In 2013, Joan Irvine Smith—great-granddaughter of California pioneer James

Irvine—sold her legendary equestrian facility for development. She selected a

homebuilder dedicated to honoring and preserving the legacy of The Oaks Farms.

thrives on the southern portion of the land with newly created rings, meandering
