STATEMENT

The Shed, Midtown’s community center, is a unique multifunctional space that was inspired by South Broadway, an

iconic playful urban stretch of one of Denver’s most highly traveled streets, the surrounding community gardens and the
close proximity to downtown Denver.

The clients “ask” was for us to create a cohesive design that would convey a playful but sophisticated style that
embodies the client’s desire for a space that exudes an urban flare, a modern take, a fresh approach, organic and

industrial elements coupled with an unexpected colorful pallet. A task that we embraced enthusiastically!

Creating a community space to ebb and flow was one of the major challenges in respect to this cozy space.

Accommodating the changing of demographics throughout the week (need for flexibility), and noise levels (high ceilings)
were Vaddressed with mobile furniture selections and acoustical panels suspended from the ceiling.
